CrossCode combines 16-bit SNES-style graphics with butter-smooth physics, a fast-paced combat system, and engaging puzzle mechanics, served with a gripping sci-fi story. A girl named Lea awakens aboard a cargo ship with no memory of her past. A man called Sergey Asimov tells her that the key to recovering her lost memories is to play CrossWorlds, a sprawling massively multiplayer online game. Almost as soon as she enters, Lea is set upon by a mysterious figure known as the Blue Avatar and is forced to flee deeper into the game's world. There she befriends a fellow player named Emilie, and together the two set out to explore CrossWorlds, eventually joining a guild called the First Scholars. As Lea ventures through the vast virtual realm and pieces together fragments of who she once was, she is drawn toward the unsettling secrets hidden behind both the game and her own forgotten identity.
