Years after the events of the earlier outbreaks, former photojournalist Frank West is drawn back into danger when a new zombie epidemic erupts in the rebuilt town of Willamette, Colorado, during the holiday shopping season. Teaming up with a ZDC agent in exchange for a chance to clear his name, Frank returns to the overrun town to investigate the source of the outbreak and a shadowy organization operating in the shadows.
