The story follows Maria, a valkyrie and lesser goddess newly created by the wounded All-Father, Odin, to serve as his instrument of salvation. Tasked with descending to the mortal realm of Midgard, Maria must seek out and purify lost souls, cleansing them of corruption to gather strength for Odin's cause. Among these souls she calls upon the Einherjar, fallen warriors resurrected to fight at her side, each carrying the memory of the death that brought them low. As Maria carries out her sacred duty across a world sliding toward destruction, she crosses paths with a mysterious human and a defiant rogue valkyrie who cautions her against trusting Odin, sowing the first seeds of doubt about the true purpose behind her divine mission.
