Finally got around to playing this game. I played the first Blasphemous quite some time ago and I really enjoyed it, but this sequel definitely did what the first did and make it better.

I really like that they are not trying to cater to "hardcore" players. A lot of games that are known for their difficulties would usually try making their subsequent games even harder and challenging at the expense of fun, aka they are making it hard for the sake of being hard. But this game gives you a challenging game while also strikes a good balance between being hard and being doable, hence successfully incentivizing even casual player to beat it. There are also few QoL over the first game such as removing the insta-death instance when you fall on a trap.

Meanwhile, the visual style, music, and voice acting is still as peak as I remembered. I really like the theme of this surreal world where everything feels dark, dystopian, and it touches upon mortality, humanity, and disturbing holy entities.

All in all, very solid game.
