The best way to describe the game is lost potential.
This game has all the recipe to be an amazing game. In fact, I truly enjoyed my time playing this for the most part. I think if you like LEGO games and also like Jurassic Park, you'll probably enjoy the game for what it is. It is a surprisingly expansive game in a small container.
But I truly despise the technical side of it. It has so many issues that detracts me from enjoying the game the fullest. Out of the top of my head I can easily mentioned several issues such as:
- No windowed mode.
- Lazy audio mixing. Both quality and volume can be either good or terrible. It's all over the place.
- Controller issues. Controller not being recognized or suddenly can register everything except for movement if you went idle and reconnect your controller midway.
- Gamebreaking bug such as character getting stuck or cannot climb over something, softlocking your progress. Probably due to the game can't handle higher frame rate.
- Terrible UI design mainly for character selection. Roulette design of choosing a characters/skins are so dumb.
The game is such a fun game. It's just disappointing that it was riddled by all those issues.
