Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One

What the actual fuck is even this game? This is just random detective game with Sherlock Holmes name spray all over it.
Despite the game looking really good compared to previous Sherlock Holmes games, unfortunately the game is anything but. Unsatisfying deduction with purposefully "open-ended" outcome and the lack of "absolute truth" for some people can be perceived as "freedom of choice and build your own narrative". For me, it's laziness and incompetent.
Very simple example is the prologue case where you have 2 possible suspect, then you found a a great clue for your deduction such as scratch mark caused by the employees. What's the logical path? Interview the people involved to get the truth. Yet you can't even ask the employee for a follow-up to know if the incident actually occurred, you can only GUESS AND MAKE ASSUMPTIONS and be adamant that "my truth is the truth". Such an egotistical approach that lack common sense. You don't even need to be a detective to be able to inquire something as simple as that. Such a lazy game design.
I tried to keep going but then you introduced.... combat??? For a second I genuinely thought I was playing Mafia. What a load of BS. A prime example of game devs adding features for the sake of adding features. Incapable of creating better writing and/or level design, so just add a lot of stuff to make up for it.
Truly the worst Sherlock Holmes game I've ever played. Worse in all aspect compared to their predecessors. Waste of time, waste of money.
Such a disgrace that the name Sherlock Holmes was used in vain.
