While it is not my favorite entry in the Final Fantasy series, I still had a pretty good time with it. It was controversial for the FF franchise to move in a more modern and action combat direction but I can see how a lot of the things they experimented with in this game show up later in the FF7R series and likely FF16 as well.
In a way, this game serves as a beta for the systems employed later. And there are some good parts from it. Some of it feels not quite as polished as it should be but I think it's a good attempt.
As a story, I thought Noctis' character arc was good and got more interesting near the end of the game. The comradery between the 4 characters is also fun. I really enjoyed all the humor and goofy moments in this game.
Overall, I had a good time. FF15 walked so FF7R could fly.
