Pentiment

It could have been such a great game, but it falls short in its own gameplay.

The storyline is great and interesting to follow, and I am a sucker for story-first games. But wandering around the same locations is super annoying. It's slow and gets repetitive very quickly. It also took me forever to remember the locations and paths between them.

The dialog animation was also annoyingly slow, but I discovered it has a setting for "instant dialog“. It was a big improvement as I turned it on.
