This game has everything for jRPG nostalgia with some modern elements: a cool world, interesting battle mechanics, a nice story, and incredible animation.
However, it just didn't resonate with me. I didn't connect with the characters much; in my opinion, there should have been one protagonist, as they aren't very distinct. The battle mechanics became repetitive, the puzzles weren't engaging, and the world lacked the unique vibe we've come to expect from Japanese jRPGs.
Co-op mode made the adventure a bit more fun, but I still couldn't wait to finish the game. I'm sure many people will love it; it just didn't click with me.
