I feel like this might be a hot take, I'm not sure, but Shield has marked the beginning of a new era for mainline Pokemon games. I call it the "I'm Not Playing These Anymore" era. Including SwSh, the games recently have been totally lacking in creativity, starting to look and feel like... just any other game nowadays. The quality has fallen off, in my opinion. I can attribute some of my strong opinions to the games having to adapt to be played on switch, but to an extent.
The curry looks really tasty, though. I'll give it half an extra star for making me really hungry.
Got it day one after loving the first game. It was really fun for a couple years, then it slowly started just... falling off. A bunch of strange decisions made by Bungie led me to become disinterested in the game after years of playing, especially after they added Stasis. Especially after a 100 GB update to the already 200+ GB game.
Loved the emotes, though— Destiny's always had some of my favorite emotes. I was dripped out too bro.
Honestly painful to play on console. Jankiest controls I've ever witnessed, it feels super clunky when you play— almost like you're playing Terraria with two boulders superglued to your hands. I've heard it also feels clunky on PC, which... how do you accomplish that?? Possibly even *impressive* how bad it feels to play.
Looks nice though, and procedurally generated planets are always fun in games.
I genuinely get so giddy whenever I think about this game. It's just that good. At first, I thought it was just something I could use to pass the time until Silksong, but boy, did I fall in love with every aspect of this game... The characters, their interactions, the gameplay, the aesthetics, the art style, ohh man I could go on for hours.
It's so so unfortunately mid. The characters are super fun, all the items and food look yummy, the game itself looks great, but the gameplay— ohh man the gameplay. I get so sad when I think of the game, because I'd really like to complete it, or at least keep playing, but the gameplay loop feels like I'm stuck in solitary confinement playing minesweeper and clicking on vegetables for the rest of my life as some form of inhumane punishment. Which is odd— I usually love cozy farming games. It almost feels like the game isn't completely finished yet, like they forgot to implement some sort of core game mechanic that makes playing through each day bearable.
